August 28th, 20001.
Here are the Veeneman's (and Leanne) looking up at a HUGE tree in Stanley Park. Stanley Park is kinda like the Central Park of Vancouver. A section of the city with all the original trees and forests surrounded in walking/biking paths. Vancouver, being on a delta, is a city of many bridges. Unfortunately, this beautiful park has a highway running right through it, to a major bridge on the far side. The "art in the park" was nice though.

A picture of Vancouver's Harbor from a lookout point at Stanley Park, just next to the Lion's Gate bridge. You can't see Vancouver island from here, but it lies just beyond the curve of the earth off to the left.

Next up, the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Leanne takes her first few careful steps 230 feet above the rocks below. This bridge bounced and swayed a LOT !

Maybe this picture gives a better perspective.
The trees are pretty big here.

3 big tall straight trees in park across the river.
There was a trail to wander around that visited lakes stocked full of rainbow trout. Forest history as well as local settler's stories were also depicted.

We enjoyed a local song that would be sung while walking through the bush hundreds of years ago, so as not to suprise a hungry bear.
